Butter Belt 40

Things we have come to expect from the Tinker crew:
Great trails
Great volunteers
Challenging course

They delivered all of that again Sunday. Every time I passed a course marshal, they had a smile or an encouraging word. Thanks Kevin, Tim, James and the rest of the crew. All of your hard work is very much appreciated.

I was pretty motivated for The Butter Belt Battle. Johnny and me, man to man. But I wasn't able to put up much of a fight. I had been home sick a few days last week and wasn't quite over it by race day. On my best day that race is hard enough. I put in two good laps and then ran out of gas on lap three. Ever had one of those days when you feel like selling your bike and taking up fishing? It was a lap of shame ending in a DNF.

Johnny toughed it out for six hours to take the Belt. Well done G.

  1. Thanks Brad. You really freaked me out when you took off at the start. I actually thought you were still chasing me all race. It kept me on the bike and got me up a few of those last hills. We will battle again. The trash talk is way more fun than riding anyway.
You are one of those guys that motivate me to get on my bike. Thanks.
