Falcon or Hawk?

Saturday looks like the day for part 2 of the birthday series. Consensus says that road will probably be the better ride around Falcon Lake. Pre-ride breakfast and meeting out at Falcon for about 10am. Ride up to West Hawk (maybe Ingolf). 39 of something should transpire during our ride.

  1. What about transportation? I can take my truck, which is good for two. Who's in?

  2. Sounds like a fun ride. I'm in. I can drive, too. I could possibly take 4 in the Golf (albeit a bit crowded in the back seat) if I can find the time to add 2 more trays to the rack before then.

Otherwise, I'm ready to take 2 cofortably, 3 with half the back seat folded down to fit a 3 bike into the car.

  3. Hey, if we're having breakfast together before riding, maybe we should eat in the city so we can digest whilst driving to West Hawk/Falcon.

  4. Breakfast at Parry's, North main-about 8am? I can take a van type vehicle if we need the room- probably fit 4 with bikes- or 5. I have the possum van available-more fuel cost though. Loren is in Kenora and will meet us out there for the ride. Just need to confirm a time and place with him.

  6. This Saturday? I haven't even looked at a bike in a year. I'll check my schedule.

  7. Sorry I'm out, Easter festivities with Jen's mom. Give Loren a big kiss for me.

  8. KK and I talked about it and I think we would plan to be back by 4 or so, if that helps in terms of making it work, PD.

  10. My bro-inlaw is in-Kyle-so is Lars in too. Does that make our count 5 from the city- 1 to meet us out there?

  11. Got an email from Lars this morning. The goading seems to have paid off - he's joining in the fun.

  12. So we are driving the MDX then? Sweet. Does that thing have a video player? We could watch the 1986 Paris Roubaix on the way out.

  13. That would be nice...but Lars and I are driving together (to Perry's, at least) in the Golf.

BTW, where exactly is Perry's? Is that aka Shooters?

  14. Yes- Shooters- the possum van is open for use- comfortably fits 5- with room for bikes I believe.

  15. Sounds good, but I have to ask: what's a possum van? Sounds like something Uncle Jessie might drive.

  16. Uncle Jesse (correct spelling - sheesh, you call yourself a Duke fan...) would never drive a van - pickups only.

Unfortunately the MDX is tied up with family, so I can't take it this time. I like the idea of watching P-R, but someone else would have to drive or risk us going off the road with me leaning back to watch.

And the goading has NOT paid off...like I said, I haven't been able to keep up with the pathetic attempts to bait me (you guys are really losing your touch, by the way). Just feeling the need to get out on the road, and this seemed like a good way to do it.

BTW, Tuesday was definitely fun, looking forward to more of those rides.

  17. What kind of metrosexual doesn't watch Red Green and therefore doesn't know the Possum Van?

As for Uncle Jesse I'm not so sure he would have turned down the opportunity to conceal his cargo in a van back when he was runnin' shine.
